A Relaxing Beach Escape in Darellas Beach Resort (Ragay, Camarines Sur)

Traveling and exploring new places is one activity that my family and I thoroughly enjoy doing together. If you ask me what makes me feel alive and gives me the most joy and peace of mind, this is most likely what I would say. 

For a person like me who enjoys being outside, it is understandable to react negatively to the news of an impending lockdown and strict borders. It hit me hard because we hadn't been able to take a family vacation in a long time because of my sibling's busy schedules and other school-related activities, and my parents are working abroad. Furthermore, we remained at home for many months without contact with the beach. With the increasing stress of my online classes and the hot weather, we decided we needed a vacation. The birthday of my grandfather seemed to be the best time for it.

First, we decided to look for resorts, and we chose to visit Darellas Beach Resort after shortlisting some nearby destinations; it is located in Ragay, Camarines Sur. We inquired about the estimated crowding at the resort before finalizing our reservation. Before the day of our beach trip, we prepared all the things we needed like clothes, food, utensils, and other beach equipment.

Trip to Darellas 

On March 28, 2022, around seven in the morning, we packed all the things we needed, and when we finished packing, we headed out for our incredible trip to our destination, Darellas Beach Resort. My family and I traveled using our car while my other relatives used a boat to reach the place. We traveled for one hour before reaching the area, and we experienced getting lost since we were not familiar with it, so we asked some people for directions on how to get there in the resort. 

When we arrived at Darellas Beach, we were amazed because it was clean and not crowded. The place is not that big, but it is enough to accommodate several tourists. The staffs are friendly and accommodating, and the cottage rental and entrance are affordable and budget-friendly, which is nice. They also gave us a discount since we were 25 people, including my other relatives on the boat. 

The place is quite awe-inspiring because the water is crystal clear; we can see the bottom part of the water, it was very transparent, like a glass. The sand is so soft just like powdered sugar; walking barefoot is a good idea because it makes me feel that I am really on a beach and gives me a tropical vibe. Watching and hearing how the water flows plus the sound of the wind is so relaxing to hear. The view isn't the only thing to remember about the place; it also has an extensive range of amazing creatures for the visitors to see, like birds, butterflies, and others.

At one point, it appeared as if there was no distinction between the water and the sky as they blended seamlessly. Our eyes were enhanced with all the good things that we can imagine about the sea. The beach is also surrounded by a lot of rocks and it gives a mesmerizing view because of its formation. Visiting Darellas Beach Resort is a good opportunity to escape as you immerse yourself with nature while having a picnic on the sand, putting a tent while watching the beautiful view. You can also rent a boat to explore the other part of the beach and even rent/buy inflatable floaters.

The outing will not be complete if there are no delicious foods that taste like the sea. We prepared and cooked a variety of fresh seafood that my uncle caught on the other side of the beach. Aside from the seafood, we also had grilled pork, fresh fruits, and some desserts. Eating in banana leaves will preserve Filipino tradition and also gives us different feelings like tropical vibe.

Why visit Darellas Beach Resort? Aside from its view, you can feel the cool temperature yet sunny day as it join the ideal wind speeds to create the perfect getaway for everyone. I am glad and grateful that we made this trip, and I recommend this to everyone to visit this place for some unforgettable moments of pure bliss with their family and friends. This will be one of the most pleasing escapes from lockdown and busy lives.
